Be careful not to put it down after you think you took it off.Filled it up with butane cuz it does not come with some in it. It's great when it works but more than half the time you're clicking it 10 times before it lights. It burns through the butane really fast as well. This was a bust.This is a simple lighter ideal for lighting fires in awkward positions. You could use it for lighting campfires, but more importantly, you could reach hard-to-reach pilot lights in gas fireplaces, furnaces or water heaters. It's especially good at lighting BBQ's or reaching down into tall things to light candles.The lighter arrives empty with no butane. You will need to purchase butane separately. Filling the lighter is simple: just press the can of butane into the end of the lighter. There is a window in the side of the lighter that shows the reservoir, so you can see the liquid butane filling up the reservoir.The lighter itself has an "on/off" slider switch, which is just a safety lock that disables the trigger from being pressed when set to "off".To use the lighter, you press and hold the trigger button down.
