Used this to repair and upgrade an old fiber plastic pit that said stainless but rotted out the first season I had it. So not to waste another 260$, I decided to look for new parts. Got this and a new SS protective plate and after the dust settled I had a renewed fire pit at a very reasonable price! Because of the angled outlets, the flame gives off a beautiful ambiance and life like flames dancing around ceramic logs. No need for a top plug as it is already sealed. I re-used the original thermal switch but added a new igniter tip. Had to drill a tiny hole, 1/16", facing the thermal shut off as it was to short to catch the flame/heat from the rings to keep it lit. Using a 20lb tank, this ring shoots flames a good 17", so its very adjustable to your needs. Totally happy with this purchase and will gladly purchase again if needed.Very nice product. This one came cracked and obviously they worked on it.At first test I didn't like to flame patter from this ring, the flames were too distinct and shot up too high. After careful placement of lava rock and fireplaces glass around the jets I was able to get a very nice overall flame. Love it now. A quick note: the gas jets protrude about an inch above the ring. I had to lower the inlet pipe an inch (1 few 45 degree joints and short pipe pieces) to get the top of the jets below my lava bed. That cost another ~$20 but it was well worth it. The new flame pattern is much nicer than the traditional fire ring it replaced.No problems and replaced an old iron rusted one. Stainless is the way to go.If you want a large flame this is definitely the way to go. Much better than the standard fire ring. I can't speak about the durability as i just installed it and it has had minimal use. The look of the flames is impressive and low cost vs value is well worth it. Highly recommend.This is an impressive product! The quality was superb. Unfortunately, I had to return it as it was too big for my fire pit.Works well
