I liked the wax covered candles and the remote control. We bought 4 boxes (32 candles total) as a mid-level option to light our windows for the Christmas season. They come very nicely packaged in boxes that you will find you can keep for future storage. They were also easy to load with 2 AA batteries each, and have a nice bright appearance when lit. They also fit into the faux-brass bases nicely (the bottom of each candle has a silicon feel, so it grips slightly). They seem to rest solidly on our window sills. (We did not use the suction cups and cannot offer an opinion on them). There are three negatives, which result in us giving these 3 stars.First, there are no instructions on how to use the remotes (also, certain boxes had extra remotes in them and it's not clear why). It was not especially hard to figure out how the remotes work - you push "on" and the candles turn on. Then you push one of the timer buttons (2h, 4h, 6h, 8h) and the candle will blink once to indicate it accepted. The candle turns off after the number of hours you pick, and turns back at the same time next day. If you put all the candles together on a table, you can use the remote on them all together so they will all turn on at the same time. You can also choose between solid and flicker modes, and adjust the overall brightness. Still - there should be instructions.Second, 1 out of 8 candles did not light initially (we bought 32 total, so 4 seemed to be dead right out of the box). We were able to get them all working by lightly tapping them, unloading and reloading the batteries, etc. However, the same 4 that were problematic from the start seem REALLY delicate and will turn off if you touch them at all. That of course is not ideal.Third, random candles seem to not keep the command you send. So, random candles will set themselves to flicker mode even if you told them all to be solid. Or, you'll wake up and find a random candle failed to turn off. Also, we discovered that if a candle was flickering, and you told it to be solid AFTER you set the timer, the timer apparently gets overridden. All told, it took us about three days to get each candle actually turning on and off at the time we wanted (this after first trying to give them all commands in groups, and then giving individual remote commands to the problem candles). So, this was an affordable mid-level purchase, and overall we are happy. But we cannot give any more than 3 stars. If you buy these, expect to have to fight with them a bit before they work the way you want. Our Church was still only having Virtual Services during the last Advent Season, and it’s Traditional for the Four Candles to be lit each Sunday leading up to Christmas. When I came across this set, I instantly felt inspired and I’m so glad I made the purchase! Each Sunday, while live-streaming, we were able to “Light” the respective candles from home and it made us feel like we were somehow more engaged with the Service and more importantly, the Meanings symbolized by the candles!Love the battery operated, multiple flickering option candles, and the compact remote is so convenient! This is a Wonderful Set - to Keep, as well as to Gift!!I love these candles! I have always loved the classic Christmas look of candles and wreaths in a window and I was determined to make it happen this year. When I saw these remote candles, I knew this was the way to go. One of the windows that we have a candle in is in our attic so it isn’t convenient to get to, but the remote allows us to decorate that window without needing an electrical outlet. The candles even have a small flicker and it looks so beautiful. They aren’t as bright as the candles that have an actual light bulb, but our home isn’t far from the street so we didn’t mind having something that wasn’t as bright. Definitely please with this! These are much better than my last set. The candles and "flames" look realistic and the battery install/change is super easy. Adjustable brightness is nice too. Two downsides: The remote works well but has somewhat limited range. (I have to walk through the house to turn on all 8 candles.) The metalic look bases can't be used along with the suction cups.Overall I recommend them.I’ve got to say that from the opening of the box, the detailed packaging to putting in the batteries- this was impressive! The price has me canceling another order from another company that was much more expensive but could not deliver. Figured I’d take a chance on these. Came with two remotes too! The only negative was I could not get the bases for them in flat black, but a van of spray paint took care of that. Wanted these for my windows for Christmas (and have wanted them for years). After putting them together and painting the bases they will be going up for Halloween thru Christmas and beyond! Also another plus these use less/smaller batteries then any of the others I have found! The timer makes them economically efficient. Love, love love these! These are a lovely option for those in apartments that don’t allow real candles. The best features were the remote for a quick on and off and the option to run batteries for four, eight, 12 hours. I didn’t have to worry about turning them off each day. The waxy outside looks great, but be sure to store in cold temps year round. I appreciate that the container was reusable and kept them in good shape between Advents.I love battery operated. They look real. I just would like to individually turn them on without all being turned on at once.
